Judicial Bypass: Minor patients who choose not to involve their parents or guardians must obtain a judicial bypass per State of Michigan regulations.

To obtain a judicial bypass, minor patients should follow these steps:

  1. Call our appointment coordinators at (313) 538-2020 and go through an appointment intake. Our counselors will describe the following steps and answer any questions.
  2. Contact the lawyer that we provide.
  3. Appear in front of a judge to determine if the minor can consent to the abortion. The judge will provide a digital raised seal document that must be brought to clinic on appointment day.

There is no fee for the attorney meeting or the bypass. The judicial bypass process takes about 1 week on average.

ID requirements:

  • Minor must have a government-issued unexpired photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport).
