Call our appointment coordinators at (313) 538-2020 to make an appointment. It would be helpful to have both minor patient and parent/guardian available to answer questions during the intake.

If you are unable to produce the required documents, please call our appointment coordinators at (313) 538-2020. We are here to help you understand the ID requirements and feel fully prepared for the appointment.

Judicial Bypass: Minor patients who choose not to involve their parents or guardians must obtain a judicial bypass per State of Michigan regulations.

To obtain a judicial bypass, minor patients should follow these steps:

  1. Call our appointment coordinators at (313) 538-2020 and go through an appointment intake. Our counselors will describe the following steps and answer any questions.
  2. Contact the lawyer that we provide. Because of COVID, this will be a remote phone call.
  3. Appear in front of a judge to determine if the minor can consent to the abortion. The judge will provide a digital raised seal document that must be brought to clinic on appointment day. Because of COVID, this will most likely be a remote video hearing.

There is no fee for the attorney meeting or the bypass. The judicial bypass process takes about 1 week on average.

ID requirements:

  • Minor must have a government-issued unexpired photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport).

If you are unable to produce the required documents, please call our appointment coordinators at (313) 538-2020. We are here to help you understand the ID requirements and feel fully prepared for the appointment.
